Why me?

One of the things that I find I get asked often is “Why me?” What brings paranormal activity into the lives of some, and not others? The answer is actually quite simple ~ law of attraction. To which they usually reply “but I’m a good person, why is this ghost attracted to me?”

First of all, it’s important to remember that most often, these seemingly malevolent energies are also good people; they’re just a little misguided, confused and very, very lost. Secondly, it’s not always immediately obvious what the attraction is, but it does become clear as we go about clearing that energy from the person’s experience.

Sometimes, the house itself is the attraction. It may have been the home of the spirit or that of a family member, a place of familiarity and comfort. Most often, it’s our own vibration, or the vibration of other people in our home. The ghost will identify with an aspect of someone in the home and in a desperate attempt to make sense of its own surroundings, cling to that which is familiar or comfortable. They mistakenly identify with us as daughters, spouses, siblings, friends, and foes. It’s as if they are sleep walking, unaware of the impact they are having on our reality as they live out some aspect of their own residual consciousness.

It helps to remember that we are constantly in a state of attraction~ law of attraction is always in motion, whether you are aware of it or not; whether you believe it or not. What shows up in your experience is always a vibrational match to your predominant thoughts and emotions. Unfortunately, once the lights turn themselves on and off, the dog refuses to enter the living room and furniture starts rearranging itself in the middle of the night, our predominant reaction is fear ~ fear of the unknown, unseen, and unexplained; and once that fear becomes part of our vibration; we attract more of it into our experience.

The good news is that it’s just as easy to change a negative experience into a positive one, simply by altering your thoughts and emotions. I always tell people who are experiencing paranormal phenomena to remain as loving and compassionate as possible; getting angry will only attract more angry energy into your experience. Listen to light, happy music; watch comedies, not news; rearrange the furniture, and dust the cobwebs out of the corners, but most importantly, keep your own thoughts and emotions loving and happy. Try to think of earthbound spirits like an injured animal at the side of the road. It may be hissing and snarling at us, but we know that’s only because it is hurt and frightened, unsure of our intentions. Lost souls are really no different; they are as confused by our presence in their reality as we are by theirs in ours.

The past few days I have been struggling with what to write, unsure of what experiences people would want me to share, and trying to find some logical sequence for experiences that clearly dwell outside the realms of logic and reason. I often question if the nature of “whispering” is something that would be of benefit to those who stumble on my site; are they going to leave feeling enlightened or are they only tuning in because I’m satisfying some perverse need for fear, providing all the gory details in high definition? True to form, the Law of Attraction delivered, as I came downstairs and found this in my Inbox:

"These beings, that are acting out in those ways that you find so awful, are tormented and suffering in ways that you will not understand. Their horrible acts are extensions of that pain. We also have to say to you -- no one who is not a vibrational match to that could be their victim."

My hope in sharing my experiences is that I somehow help eliminate the fear surrounding the unknown, the unseen and the unwanted. I hardly consider myself to be authority on any matter, but it has been my experience that when we remain open to what IS, rather than reacting in fear to what we do not understand; we take little bites out of the unknown, chew it up and swallow it as understanding. “The only way of finding the limits of the possible is by going beyond them into the impossible”.
